During my sophomore spring semester at SNC, I had Computer Graphics with Professor Pirman, an incredibly talented individual who has been designing professionally for more than 25 years. This was my first college level computer assisted design course (out of three). We were given five design projects to work on which include: a de stijl style postcard, a bookcover design in the Russian Constructivism style, an illustration for a clock (using the infamous pen tool), a personal full-sized poster design, a brochure based off of a style of an artist (my task was to research and present on the Bauhaus), and a full CD design (spine, cover, booklet, cd face, & backside) using the style of the artist researched. These creations are the results of paying careful attention to Professor Pirman’s priceless lectures and in-depth demonstrations covering Adobe Illustrator CS and Photoshop CS. This class helped me to understand quality cannot be substituted by anything in the professonal realm, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!
