Now up and ready for the picking: the Remastered version of the mix that takes you into daybreak, shining bright with possibility, hope and love. Welcome to an entirely remodified progression from what you last remember! That’s right: Mix.05 - “Hello Tomorrow” is finally here.

Mix.05 is the final piece of the three part subseries (Mix.03, Mix.04, & Mix.05) of the Chillout Sessions which blend together conceptually to invoke an understanding of the passage of time. The deep night housebeat takes a bow and everything becomes still. Over the horizon peaks a brilliant, rising light, and a new day begins for all life on earth!

With this post, I am uber-excited to announce that the Chillout Sessions mixes 01-05 have all been completely remastered! This series began as a conceptual project during the start of ‘07, while in my dorm room at St. Norbert College. Since its introduction, the series’ optimistic variety has acted as a vehicle to get some of the best quality deep house and house music out to fans’ ears, with no hassles for the listeners. Accessibility to the ‘Sessions has been direct and simple — a couple clicks and downloads later and just like that, you are ready to jive! Exposure to the people, via word-of-mouth and by online notifications, has been the answer to spreadin the love within these sets. I hope you have enjoyed these mixes, as I have reached new heights of happiness while compiling them.

To celebrate the success of this series, I have decided to create an entirely new mix of all new material, entitled “Serve Chilled,” which will be available in a few days. This mix spans nine new deep house tracks that offer a fresh, thumpin’ angle to the series. Whether its hittin’ you with a dreamy soundscape or a steady, funk-refined bassline, you can be sure that there will be plenty of groovin’ thats going to be happenin’ in Mix.06. Stay tuned for this summer’s conclusion to a series which has no end in sight!

I have just finished a new electro/progressive house mix that is a part of the Summer 08 Collection, a series of summer EDM mixes I have been working on this season. There is quite a bit of depth to this mix, so I should take some time to explain its significance. Here’s some background info on this one:

Eleven years ago, the world was exposed to the ingenious masterpiece known as “Metal Gear Solid 1″ for the Sony Playstation, created by Japanese director and designer Hideo Kojima. This title not only changed the direction of gaming, it (along it several other 1997 releases) redefined the medium’s intentions entirely. Just as literature, film, music, art, and every other branch of communication operate as effective forms of human expression, gaming has found its rightful place in the pack and has solidified its presence in our incredibly complex world of relationships, values, and ethics. Its potency must not be underestimated.

MGS1 character Dr. Naomi Hunter, support to protagonist Solid Snake, offers to us her simple, yet compassionate words which lie at the heart of this mix: “The important thing is that you choose life… and then live!”

“The Pursuit of Life” is devoted to reinforcing this essential message and aims to motivate us to live more fully each and every day.

Here’s an important DJ announcement which may spark your interest if you follow my Chillout Sessions mixes:

I’m a couple days behind here on this important update, but I thought I would inform you all regardlessly. I have recently finished remastering last summer’s Chillout Sessions Mix.03 “Goodbye Yesterday” and have uploaded it to this site under “The Chillout Sessions“. It runs at about 52 minutes in length, spanning nine deep house tracks from the past several years. Additionally, I have redesigned the banner as well to stick with the fresh remastered feel to ensure nothing but quality sound.

I just wanted to make an important announcement to anyone who follows my radio show or is involved with WSNC Radio on the St. Norbert College campus:

I will -not- be continuing my PLURALITY radio show series come Fall 2008. However, I will still be acting as the co-manager of the station, dedicating my time to improving our group’s website, assisting with the creation of dynamic radio DJ profiles, making graphics and t-shirts, and lining up photoshoots. From time to time, I will also spot our DJ’s on their own shows, just to continue keeping it real in the station. With my senior year creeping up on me, I will be trying to line up local dj spots at wine bars/bars/clubs (Montague’s, Baba’s, and Club Pi in GB, etc.). This will allow me to reach a larger audience and help to fuel GB’s “non-existent” nightlife scene. It’s about time for some true live sets! I’ll keep you updated on these plans as time unwinds here.

Additionally, I’d like to take the time to announce my 4th mix of the summer, which is a mix from my new series “The Summer 08 Collection. This is the second of five entirely new mixes I have planned to release this summer.

– Souldier Storm (Final Mission Mix) –
This is a brand-sprankin new, straight up obnoxious electro mix to please the crazy minds who desire something a little more thick-noised! This mix was created as a tribute to Solid (Old) Snake’s intense final mission in Metal Gear Solid 4. Please pump these beats with caution, as things may grow intense rather quickly!

The SWD summer redesign is currently in progress. I have recently uploaded a new banner to launch the new site design. From this, you will be able to predict the color scheme for the content layout. The new logotype is included in the banner as well. Newly designed businesscards are in production, in order to coexist with this new identity graphic. It will be appearing on all of my creative endevours, so you can be assured something came from my personal studio wherever this mark appears.

I am currently in the process of digitally remastering (RM’ing) The Chillout Sessions mixes! They are now being mixed with Ableton Live to perfection in order to maximize your listening (and grooving) experiences. Additionally, I have also purchased tons of new tracks to create brand spankin new hard pounding and high energy summer electro, house, and progressive mixes! Look for these special mixes under the project name “The Summer 08 Collection.”

The wordpress 2.5.1 security update is complete, and my pages are now back, thanks to my friend Mr. Brady Whealon! With the new update, I have decided to include two galleries of past images taken during my family’s May 2006 trip to Italy (Rome, Florence, Spello and Cortona). Feel free to browse the galleries when you have the chance to do so! These images were captured two summers ago to the date, and it makes me feel a certain longing to return to the epic land of wine and cheese! Currently, I am hoping to study abroad during J-term ‘08 in Sicily if the option is available. Looking at these images makes me want to get back there more than anything… hopefully it will be happening soon.
