When I sketch and doodle, I prefer to work with pen — specifically Pigma Micron ink pens (sizes 005 through 08). I dislike how graphite pencils smear and leave stains which are difficult to mask out and work around. In my opinion, true beauty comes from manipulating line thickness, playing with hatching, and being aware of positive/negative space while pressing for as much contrast as possible!
