This gallery contains my work from my latest computer-assisted design course, entitled New Media Art, taught by visiting SNC art professor Luke Buffenmyer. We started the course with an image restoration assignment to “prove” our photoshop skills. Our second assignment was to create our own unique exquisite corpse, a favorite activity of the European surrealist avant-garde artists. They would take a piece of paper and fold it into three parts, then draw a portion of the body without looking at the others and then pass it on to another person to take on another third. My three particular segments are “Head: King of the Cosmos”, “Torso: Von (Hope)”, and “Legs: Femme Fatale.” The third assignment was to create a political statement, a message which we feel very passionate about. I have created an anti-war message (and anti-Bush at that) in hopes of portraying this endless cycle of violence our world is going through… with an absence of lessons learned being an underlying theme. We are working on a music video project, which I will try to somehow incorporate on this site as well once it is completed.
